Sophie’s Steps Recap (2021)
On Sunday, September 26, 2021, Silken Twine hosted its second annual virtual walk/run event called Sophie’s Steps to raise money and awareness for the charity. The event was a massive success; Silken Twine had set a goal to raise $8,000.00 to support pediatric cancer patients/survivors and their families. With the support of 91 registrants, 48 donors, and help from local sponsors, Silken Twine achieved its goal of raising over $8,000.00! Sophie’s Steps drew participants from all over the world from California to Vermont and from Germany all the way to India. We thank everyone who participated, donated, sponsored, and helped organize for their contribution!
The event also marks a day to remember the life of Sophie Malaviya, who lost her battle with cancer in 2017. The virtual event rallied friends and family around the globe to start walking or running and sharing pictures to show their support.
Silken Twine would also like to congratulate the winners of two prizes being offered for the virtual event. Suzanne Cole won a $75 gift card for traveling the greatest distance on their run or walk and Simon Hinke won a $75 gift card as the winner of the random raffle of all the race participants.
We’d like to once again thank everyone who participated and look forward to seeing you all in our second annual Sophie’s Steps Walk/Run Event!
